The 2027 cycle
When this page was last checked, on 20 October 2026, we could not find an NTA information bulletin for JEE (Main) 2027, and reports expect applications to open in the last week of October. The figures below are from the 2026 bulletin. Websites already disagree about the 2027 signature size (some say 10 to 100 KB, others 4 to 30 KB), and NTA has changed this limit between exams before, so when the 2027 bulletin appears, read the signature line in it first.
What the 2026 bulletin asks for

Sizes in KB, with no pixel size
The sentences that give the photograph and signature limits state them as file sizes only. The tool therefore saves the photograph in passport-style proportions and the signature as a wide, short strip, and keeps each inside its range.
The signature limit differs from the other NTA exams
The same agency asked for a 4 to 30 KB signature in the UGC NET June 2025 bulletin, and asks for 10 to 50 KB in the UGC NET December 2026 and CUET (UG) 2026 bulletins. JEE (Main) 2026 allows 10 to 100 KB. If you are applying to more than one, the signature files need different sizes, so make each separately rather than reusing one.
How to get a clean signature file
Sign in black ink on plain white paper and photograph it in good light, holding the phone flat above the page. The tool finds your signature on the page and crops to it, then whitens the paper and darkens the ink, so you do not have to trim the picture first. If the result is faint, raise the contrast slider a few steps.
