IBPS photo, signature, thumb and declaration resizer
IBPS names exact sizes for four files: a photograph of 200 by 230 pixels at 20 to 50 KB, a signature of 140 by 60 pixels at 10 to 20 KB, a left thumb impression of 240 by 240 pixels and a handwritten declaration of 800 by 400 pixels. The tool makes each at the size and range given.

What the IBPS guidelines ask for
These figures are from IBPS’s guidelines for scanning the photograph, signature, thumb impression and hand-written declaration, in the application portal for its 2026 recruitment (portal path psbsomar26; the document carries no date). Read on 18 October 2026. IBPS issues a guidelines document for each recruitment, so check the one in your own application.

Why every size is a range
Each file has a minimum as well as a maximum. A signature that is 8 KB is as unacceptable as one that is 30 KB. The tool encodes at the largest quality that stays under the limit, and if the picture is still below the minimum it tells you and brings it up to it.
The photograph
The guidelines ask for a recent passport-style colour picture taken against a light-coloured, preferably white, background. Look straight at the camera with a relaxed face. If you take it on a sunny day, put the sun behind you or stand in the shade so you are not squinting and there are no harsh shadows, and avoid flash that causes red-eye. Glasses must show no reflections and your eyes must be clearly visible. Caps, hats and dark glasses are not acceptable, while religious headwear is allowed if it does not cover the face.
The signature and thumb impression
Sign on white paper with a black ink pen. The guidelines say the signature must not be in capital letters and must be clearly visible. For the thumb impression, use black or blue ink on white paper. If you have no left thumb, the guidelines allow the right thumb, and say what to use if both are missing, and that the uploaded document should name the finger and the hand.
The declaration
The guidelines give the sentence to write: that all the information submitted is correct, true and valid, and that you will present the supporting documents when required. It must be in your own handwriting, in English, and not in capital letters. The notice says a declaration written by anyone else, or in another language, makes the application invalid. This tool only resizes the scan; it cannot check the handwriting.
The live photograph
Besides the photograph file, the guidelines have candidates capture a live photograph by webcam or phone from within the application. That one is taken in the form and is not made here. The guidelines also warn that the system will not let you move to the next stage until the photograph and signature are as specified.
Frequently asked questions

The guidelines give 200 by 230 pixels as the preferred size, a file of 20 to 50 KB, and describe a picture of 4.5 cm by 3.5 cm.
What size is the IBPS signature?
140 by 60 pixels is the preferred size, with a file of 10 to 20 KB. Sign in black ink on white paper, and not in capital letters.
What are the thumb impression and declaration sizes?
The left thumb impression is 240 by 240 pixels at 200 DPI (3 cm by 3 cm) and 20 to 50 KB. The hand-written declaration is 800 by 400 pixels at 200 DPI (10 cm by 5 cm) and 50 to 100 KB.

The guidelines call them preferred for the required quality. The tool uses them exactly, so the file matches what IBPS prefers.
