How do I compress an image to a specific size in KB?
Choose the "Target size" option and type the limit you need, for example 100 KB or 200 KB. The tool then tries a range of quality settings and picks the one that lands just under your limit while keeping the image as sharp as possible.
Will compressing reduce the quality of my photo?
Some quality is always traded for a smaller file, but at the Balanced setting the difference is usually invisible on a screen while the file gets dramatically smaller. If you need the closest match to the original, use the "Best quality" setting.
Is there a file size or daily limit?
No. Since your images are compressed by your own device rather than our servers, there is no per-image cost to us and therefore no cap on how many images you process or how large they are.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Everything happens inside your browser tab, and your images are never transmitted anywhere. You can even disconnect from the internet after the page loads and the tool will still work.
Which formats are supported?
You can compress JPG, PNG and WebP images. PNG files stay as PNG unless you use the target size option, which switches to JPEG because PNG compression cannot hit an exact size target.
