What transparency actually is
A transparent image stores an extra value for every pixel describing how opaque it is. Where that value is zero the pixel is invisible and whatever sits behind shows through. This is why a transparent PNG can be placed onto any background and still look natural.
You must save as PNG
JPEG has no way to store transparency, so saving a cut-out as JPEG silently fills the empty area with solid white or black. PNG and WebP both support it, and this tool always gives you a PNG for that reason.
Frequently asked questions
Why does my transparent image have a white background when I open it?
Most likely it was saved as a JPEG somewhere along the way, which cannot hold transparency. It can also be the viewer: some image viewers display transparent areas as white by default, even though the file itself is correct.
Does this work for hair and fur?
Reasonably well. The model handles most hair convincingly, though very fine strands against a busy background remain the hardest case for any automatic tool, paid ones included.
