The 2027 cycle

When this page was last checked, on 20 October 2026, we could not find an NTA information bulletin for NEET (UG) 2027. The figures below are from the 2026 bulletin. Sites that publish 2027 sizes are working from the 2026 document or from older ones, and the signature range in particular has changed between years, so check the bulletin when it is released.

What the 2026 bulletin asks for

These figures are from Chapter 3, Section 2(d) of the Information Bulletin NEET (UG)-2026 published by the National Testing Agency on 23 February 2026. The first issue of the bulletin, from 8 February 2026, was read as well and gives the same three ranges. Read on 18 October 2026.

The photograph

The bulletin wants a recent photograph taken on or after 1 January 2026, in colour or black and white, with about 80% of the face visible including the ears, against a white background. It says 80% of the area of the image should be the candidate’s face, and that there should be a light-coloured background with proper lighting. Spectacles are allowed only if you wear them regularly, and Polaroid or computer-generated photographs are not accepted. The bulletin says applications with unclear photographs are liable to be rejected, and that the facility for correction will not be given, so a wrong file cannot be fixed afterwards. Frame your face so it fills the picture, then check the preview before you download.

What the bulletin says about rejection

Three sentences in the bulletin matter most. An application without a photograph shall be rejected. An application that does not comply with the instructions, or has an unclear photograph, is liable to be rejected. And candidates are told to upload the correct photograph, signature and impressions because the facility for correction will not be given. Photographs found to be fabricated, such as de-shaped or computer made, are also not accepted. That is why the preview and the size check here come before the download.

The signature rule is not the one older guides give

The NTA’s public notice for NEET (UG) 2020 asked for a signature of 4 to 30 KB. The 2026 bulletin asks for 10 to 100 KB. A signature scan that was correct in 2020 can now be too small, and many guides still repeat the old figure. This tool uses the 2026 range and tells you the size of the file it makes.

The thumb impression range contradicts itself

The bulletin states 10 to 200 KB for the impressions in the application steps and 50 to 300 KB in the checklist. A file between 50 and 200 KB satisfies both, so that is what the thumb impression option here aims for. If the portal tells you otherwise when you upload, follow the portal.

What about the postcard photograph?

The bulletin tells candidates to keep postcard-size (4 by 6 inch) colour photographs with a white background, with passport-size ones. It gives no upload size for a postcard photograph, so there is nothing to resize for that one.

Step by step

Choose NEET (UG) 2026 and Photograph, then add your picture. Drag the sliders until your face fills the frame with both ears showing; raise the brightness if the picture is dim. Check that the file size shows a figure between 10 and 200 KB, then download. Do the same for Signature, where a photo of your signature on white paper is enough, and for the thumb impression if you are asked for it. The three files together take a few minutes.

Frequently asked questions

What is the NEET 2026 signature size in KB?

The bulletin asks for a JPG/JPEG signature file between 10 KB and 100 KB. It sets no pixel size.

Is there a pixel size for the NEET photograph?

No. The bulletin states the file size (10 to 200 KB) and the format, and sets no width or height in pixels or inches. This tool saves the photograph in passport-style proportions and keeps it inside the size range.

What if my scan comes out smaller than 10 KB?

A plain signature on white paper can compress below the minimum. The tool first makes the picture larger, which raises the file size. If that is still not enough it adds empty data to the file to reach the minimum, and tells you when it has. The picture itself is not changed.

Can I correct my photograph after I submit?

The bulletin says the facility for correction will not be given, and tells candidates to upload the correct photograph, signature and impressions. Check the file here before you upload it.

Why are the sizes here different from what a coaching site told me?

The figures here are read from the 2026 bulletin and shown with its date. Rules differ from year to year, so a figure copied from an earlier cycle can be wrong for this one.
