How the range box works
Commas separate individual pages and dashes cover a run, so 1,4,8-12 gives you page one, page four, and pages eight to twelve as a single document. The order you type is not the order you get — pages always come out in their original sequence — so use the page organiser instead if you need to rearrange them.
Nothing is re-encoded
Pages are copied out of the original file structure rather than redrawn, so text stays selectable, images keep their exact quality, and the result is identical to what you started with. This is why extraction is instant even on a large document, and why it is always better than printing the pages you want to a new PDF.

Yes. Use commas and dashes together, for example 1,4,8-12. They can be combined freely in one box.
Do I get one file or several?

What happens to bookmarks and links?
Links pointing at a page you did not extract have nowhere to go, and a contents page will still list pages that are no longer there. Worth a glance before sending anything long.
