Why forms ask for a PDF

Job applications, visa forms and university portals almost always want one PDF rather than a handful of loose images. A single file cannot arrive half-complete, it opens the same way on every machine, and it keeps your documents in the order you intended rather than whatever order the recipient happens to click.

Page size and orientation matter more than they look

A4 is standard almost everywhere except North America, which uses Letter. Picking the wrong one is rarely fatal but it shows: the page prints with uneven margins or the content sits slightly off-centre. Match the orientation to your photos as well — portrait pages with landscape photos leave large empty bands above and below.

Watch the finished size

Photos go in at full resolution, so a few phone pictures can produce a PDF far larger than a portal will accept. If the result is too big, compress the images before combining them rather than after: shrinking the photos first gives a better-looking document at the same final size than squeezing the assembled PDF.

Frequently asked questions

Can I mix PNG and JPG in one PDF?

Yes. All supported images are embedded as pages in the order you arrange them, whatever format they arrived in.

How do I change the page order?

Drag the images into the order you want before creating the PDF. The document is built in exactly the order shown, so it is worth a quick check before downloading.

Will the photos be cropped?

No. Each image is fitted inside the page while keeping its proportions, so nothing is cut off. A photo whose shape does not match the page leaves white space at the edges rather than losing any of the picture.
